Workout & Motivation Journal 7/15/14

Went to the gym tonight and for the second night in a row I biked the 2.5 miles down to Cedardale and back. When I got there my IPad still is not connecting to the WIFI but I will survive. I still wish I could have had a Tony Robbins video to motivate me on the treadmill.

Rituals(current rituals I need to keep in my life)
-being conscious about food going into my body
-being conscious about the intensity and frequency of my working out
-getting enough sleep(i need to improve this)

I am going back to the things that worked last summer to get myself results. I really kept a focus on improving my diet and keeping my training intense and to the point and measure results. Tonight I did a 20 minute run and completed 2.09 miles in the 20 minutes. I also decided to do some light arm curls.
Riding the bike down there is a way of slowing down and refocusing.

Recently I have been considering becoming one of those people who gets up really early and uses the first 2 hours to get a head start on the things important to them. I was thinking the hours of 4-7am .
This time is quiet and free of many distractions which can derail you.

I am in the midpoint of working in the Minuteman Summer Program right now. It is draining me in some ways but keeping me in tune in others. Camping is coming up this week and I should stay focused and sort out some bills, needs and school work(curriculum, connecting with people) before the weekend.

Andrew recommendation

Andrew hit me and has been a student in three courses in my high school teaching career. he was a student my web one web to animation courses. all throughout his high school career Andrew was a well spirited intellectually gifted student. Andrew was creative solved problems and completed his work on time with a high level of creativity.
What separated Andrew from all the other students in my class was is positive spirit and ability to be friends with anyone in the class.
Andrew was helpful and prove to be a valuable asset for assisting students with learning skills they were weaker and and also making them feel like they belonged.
I was lucky enough to continue to have a relationship with Andrew after he left Winchester high school. Andrew would stop in and we would share his experiences from college and also his perspective for the future. not only has Andrew grown but he has developed his vision for what he wants out of life.

Each time I meet with Andrew we have deep conversations about his plans for the future and his current experiences. Andrew possesses a maturity well beyond his years. he has honed a great emotional intelligence which allows him to make better decisions than your average college student. andrew is smart intelligent, dedicated and keeps himself grounded. in short he knows what he wants out of life.
I would recommend Andrew for any program he chose to set his mind to join. andrew is looking for experiences is already high level of maturity even further.
It is my experience in speaking with Andrew that he is interested in studying marine sciences. we have discussed this interest at lengthk.
I thoroughly believe that Andrew is committed to succeed in any program he commit himself to
. I have had a running relationship with this young man for the past 6 years. I have seen him adjust when 't necessary and also improve how he approaches situations.
I have seen him grow and also look forward to seeing him grow even further. he is conscientious and cares deeply about those he interacts with and looks to develop relationships that matter.

technology as a language

I think a lot can be said for describing technology as a language there are computer languages and code which help describe how things can be done but there is also describing fluency and how skills can be improved using ICT. when trying to find new ways to describe how technology learning can be infused it might be great to compare it to have a language can be learned immersion to the native environment and an application of the tools of the language in order to  seed a result our society and culture is in the process of this adjustment we are all on a variety of levels in a variety of comfortability scales.

Walking kids into camp

Since working another summer program(minuteman). I noticed a big difference in the kids whose parents walk in with them in the morning. Some parents just drop off and leave and some bring kids all the way in. I think this indicates a stronger relationship and dhows a concern for the childs emotional well being.

Thoughts

What gets measured gets done.

You always need to be upgrading yourself and continually.

Its easier to sit in your own skin when you are improving.

You always need to be working on your self concept.
